Sieved granulated sugar and standard sugar

The assortment of sieved granulated sugars ranges from 0.2 to 2.5 millimetres in nine different particle sizes. There is a particle size suited to each use. In addition to the sieve types, there is standard sugar that is not sifted to a specific particle size and has a wider crystal size distribution.

 Functional benefits of sieved granulated sugar:

  • Biscuits have more volume and are lighter when the appropriate sieve size is used.
  • Finely sieved granulated sugars can be dosed more precisely and quickly and the dissolving process is easier to manage.
  • Finely sieved granulated sugar is ideal for sugar coatings on gum sweets and coated products.
  • Coarsely sieved granulated sugar is used mainly as caster or decorative sugar.
  • The sugar retains its crystal shape when baked at high temperature.
  • Coarsely sieved granulated sugar has an attractive appearance and an appetising/crispy finish.
